Mise (from "mise en place" - everything in its place) was born from a simple frustration: meal planning shouldn't feel like work. After years of asking "what's for dinner?" and scrolling endlessly through recipe sites, I wanted something that felt more like discovery than decision fatigue.

Why I Built This

Every week, millions of people face the same question: what should I cook? They open recipe apps, get overwhelmed by choices, and end up ordering takeout or making the same three meals on repeat.

I wanted to build something that made recipe discovery feel fun and effortless - like swiping through a dating app, but for food. The app learns your taste over time, suggests dishes you'll actually want to make, and handles all the planning logistics automatically.

Key Features

01

Swipe to Discover

Browse recipes by swiping right on dishes that look delicious, and skip the ones that don't. The app learns your preferences and serves up better suggestions over time. With 500+ curated recipes, you'll never run out of inspiration.
02

Weekly Meal Planning

Drag and drop your favorite recipes into a weekly calendar. See your whole week at a glance, make changes in a tap, and Mise remembers what you loved for next time.
03

Smart Grocery Lists

Your grocery list builds itself from your meal plan. Ingredients are automatically organized by aisle, so shopping takes half the time. No more wandering the store or forgetting items.
04

Step-by-Step Cooking

Hands-free cook mode walks you through each recipe with big, clear instructions you can read from across the kitchen. No more squinting at your phone with messy hands.
